Days 11, 12, 13, and 14 at Putney

Standard

These last few days have been amazing! Wednesday was a half day, so after classes my friends and I relaxed, and waited to go to the basketball game. Putney was in the semi-finals and they won, which is so amazing! Afterwards, we went to dinner, and relaxed and did homework for the rest of the day. Thursday was a normal school day, but everyone was beginning to write Valentines for each other. I wrote a few for my friends, and my friends wrote a few for me too. It was a lot of fun. During the day on Friday, things were pretty normal. We had all of our normal classes, but that night there was a valentines day party, which was loads of fun! It was a fantastic way to spend my last night at Putney. Afterwards my roommate helped me pack my suitcases, which was a challenge, but we managed to fit all of my clothes in it. Today, was once again, only a half day. I had History and Spanish. In History my classmates were filling out a survey on how the trimester went, so I couldn’t participate much. But then I had Spanish, were we ate food, and watched movies. Afterwards, was lunch, and here is when I said all my goodbyes. It was extremely difficult, because i became attached to many of these people, but I’m also very glad I got the chance to meet such wonderful people. My experience at Putney, was wonderful, and I am going to miss it a lot.

Day 10 at Putney

Standard

Today was pretty much a typical day of classes. First I had Spanish, where we watched a movie about the privatization of water in Bolivia. It was called Even the Rain it was extremely moving. Then I went to English where we had to create a TED talk. I’m still deciding what mine should be about but I have time to decide. Then I had music intensive which was pretty relaxed. We didn’t do much today. I did have farm today and that was pretty interesting. I had to lead cows into their feeding stalls and one of them pooped directly on me! It felt super gross, and smelled even worse. After that class I took the longest shower possible. I’ll make sure next time I’m more prepared!

Day 9 at Putney

Standard

Today was just a typical Monday. First I had English where the class is learning how to rant, then there was assembly where each dorm participated in the Oreo challenge. (I’m not quite sure how to describe it but I’m sure you can look it up youtube) then afterwards I had a Music intensive, where the class mainly worked on their essays, Cailan, however, did take is into the Putney g store to get lunch. Then we came back and I had History of the Modern World. We basically talked about political animals the whole time. Then I had yoga, which is always so fun and very relaxing. However, today was a lot harder then the last class. Afterward I had the rest of the afternoon free so a few of my roommates and I went to the basketball game because their team is in the playoffs, which is super exciting. We won 66 to 10, which I super cool ! After the game we ate dinner and came back to the dorm so I can get ready for my evening activity which was photography. I only develops to good photos because I couldn’t get the exposure on one of my pictures correct, but it eventually worked, and looked great !

Day 8 at Putney

Standard

Today was pretty relaxed. On Sundays there’s not really much to do than to catch up on homework. During the early hours I worked on my Spanish essay. There aren’t many guidelines to my paper, I just have to write about something that interests. I also completed my outline for history, which was simply answering if political animals are destructive or not. After I finished that, my friend and I took the shuttle out to putney, and we went to the putney co-op and the G-Store to get dorm snacks. We were in putney for about two hours, and it was a lot of fun. We then came back and laid around all day. A lot of people were extremely tired because of Snowball, so the majority of the students were sleeping all day.

Day 7 at Putney

Standard

Today was really nice. We had a half day so I had History then Spanish. I Have to write an outline for history and a paper for Spanish in the next week. Yikes! I’m sure I’ll survive though. The rest of the day it was rather relaxed. We all just spent time in the dorm listening to music and watching movies. Then I went to a basketball game with some of my roommates. It was Putney against Vermont Academy and it was a really good! We won in the end and everyone was cheering and having a great time. Then we went back to the dorm because around the time we returned we had to get ready for snowball. Snowball is this formal dinner/dance that happens every year. The teachers would serve us dinner, and then we would go to the dance. This year however, was a little different from others that happened. They had a live band that played swing and waltz music, and they usually have music playing from a computer. I thought it was really cute though. Unfortunately, I felt sick in the middle of it so I went back to my dorm to get some rest. Although from what I did experience , I enjoyed it a lot !
